Last Friday the bB team had the chance to make donations at a small school in Vacas Municipality. We wanted you to know a bit more about the place.
Vacas Municipality is also known as “The Homeland of the Potato” since they harvest 12 of the 33 kinds of potatoes found in Bolivia. Its located 88 kilometers from the city of Cochabamba, in the province of Arani. Potato harvesting and animal breeding, especially cows, are the main factors of their economy.
Every year, the community organizes the “Pejerrey Fair”. Pejerrey is aB type of fish from the area that people form Vacas cook a lot. The Municipality has 7 different lakes, so the fair is pretty big and attracts many tourists to the area.
Many people also like to visit Vacas because it has a 50 meter waterfall deep in the wilderness. It’s a nice place to have picnics and go hiking.
