Meet Veronica, one of our Bolivian artisans

BeyondBeanie artisans

Her name is Veronica, she's a wool artisan from Bolivia.

"I was born and raised in Charazani, a very small town of 700 people about 4 hours away from La Paz which can only be reached by a dirt road".

Looking for better opportunities, she moved to El Alto, a little and very promising city.  She visits her parents and family twice a year.

Through lots of efforts and hard work, she has managed to own a group of llamas, from whom she collects the wool, to make her own wool products,  as well as to sell to other artisans.

"My greatest joy in life are my three children"

She has 3 children of whom she is very proud of. She feels very lucky to have a hard-working husband who does his best to provide his family the best he cans.

She's a proud Bolivian woman who besides the adversities, loves her country.  She's trilingual too, she speaks Spanish, Quechua and Aymara.

Her dream for the future is to see her children become people of good.artisans beyondbeanieShe's very happy to be part of the beyondBeanie project.  She's glad that her work contributes not to only to help her family, but also to provide meals and school supplies to much needed street and orphaned children.

You can contact her and read more about her story here.  If you want to travel to Bolivia, you can also meet her in person too!
