How can we end global poverty?

Have you ever thought about how you can help to end poverty? Then, after doing some research online you figured that there’s so much to do that you don’t even where to start?

While the topic of how to end global poverty is quite complex, and completely eliminating poverty may take years if not decades to achieve, the solution on how to end it doesn’t have to be so difficult.

Even if you are not an expert on the topic of poverty alleviation, when you look at distressed communities from around the world, you can often see that there are three big elements that need attention and that go hand by hand

  • To improve gender equality, which would mean to give better opportunities and empower women in the form of empowerment
  • To improve access to education, meal programs and medical care for children in need
  • To improve access to clean water

Chances are that you are thinking that ending poverty requires a whole lot of time and money, and the simple answer is Yes! It does require a lot of resources. Anyhow, while you can look at the issue at a macro scale, you can also look it at a micro scale! What we mean by this is that you can always take little steps that will build upon the actions that other people are taking to change the world, ultimately resulting in a magical outcome that benefits all of us.

Now, you might be asking yourself: What are these actions that I as a consumer can take to help to fight poverty? Besides donating your time or part of your money to support worthy causes you believe in; believe it or not, one of the best things you can do is to become as much as you can of a conscious consumer who is always shopping from and supporting brands and companies which are dedicated to doing good.

No matter what you are in the market for, it’s almost guaranteed that you will find a company that has added an ethical or giveback component to their range of goods and services. For instance, in the case of beyondBeanie, every time that you make a purchase,

  • You are empowering the artisan who made your product
  • You are fighting gender inequality
  • You are helping to provide education, meals, school supplies and uniforms to children in need

And you? What actions are you taking to help fight poverty? we invite to explore on who you are as a person, to  think about what kind of change you want to build in the world, and support organizations and companies dedicated to social good. If you are unsure about where to start, simply sharing this post can do a whole lot!
